Rapper and multi-instrumentalist, Indii G., has released a new EP, Riverhouse, a lo-fi hip hop collection of six tracks that showcases polished guitar instrumentation and rhythmic beats.

The first single off of the album, “Hampton,” dives into bedroom pop with a slow, smooth tempo. “It’s never too late to fix any mistakes you’ve made in the past. Keep trying and don’t give up, it gets better,” Indii shares about the track. “It’s about rekindling a lost flame; looking back on my mistakes with this person, realizing how we’ve grown from it and how we’ve come back stronger.”

“Summer Nights” pairs mellow vocals with a standout rhythm as he speaks of jealousy in a budding summer romance, while “Dancing With Your Silhouette,” another standout track, is highlighted by an accompanying cinematic black and white music video.

About the project, Indii explains, “Riverhouse is a collection of stories that in some ways represent a chapter of my life. To me, this project symbolizes me balling it up and leaving it all behind as I open the door to begin a new and better one.”

The Louisiana native began his career in 2016 as a self-taught piano and guitar player, blending different beats and vocal arrangements for listeners on Soundcloud.

Since then, he’s collaborated with emo rappers Powfu and Sadboyprolific, and released over a dozen singles including “Secrets,” “Story’s End,” “Drifting” and “Cherry Blossom.” He signed to Epitaph Records in 2020 and has garnered two million streams and counting on Spotify.

Riverhouse was co-produced by Indii G. himself and mixed by Miles Walker. Indii draws inspiration from fellow musicians Juice WRLD, Frank Ocean, and Blackbear.
