Fraternal Twin Announce First New Album In A Decade

New York’s Fraternal Twin, the project of musician Tom Christie, is excited to announce their first album in ten years, Halo Fell Forever, which arrives September 4, 2026. Opening track “Solitude” arrives today with an official music video. Riffs linger around insular feelings and brightly toned guitars unfurl onto the track. The video was directed by Ben Correa and produced by Nigel Truesdale, portraying the despondency of isolation as Tom faces himself in hotel rooms, hallways, and within the song.

About the new song, Tom shares, “‘Solitude’ was a bit of a departure for me in terms of songwriting and riff writing, and a breakthrough in arranging. I started writing the song on my friend’s Fender VI and later reinterpreted it on my Jaguar in a completely different tuning. The lyrics are probably my most abstract and stream-of-consciousness, maybe exploring the process of learning to accept uncomfortable emotions like anxiety and dread. The main riff sounds almost psychedelic to me, and the whole song feels like a dream sequence that came from spending too much time alone in my room at night, ruminating and overthinking. Thankfully, I don’t experience that anymore.”

Skin Gets Hot (Deluxe), an expanded edition of Fraternal Twin’s fan-favorite debut record, arrived last month. The album is complete with two new studio recordings tracked and mixed by producer Dan Howard (Victoryland, Forth Wanderers) at Chateau Grand in Brooklyn—a re-recording of the title track and one previously unreleased song—along with several cassette demos from the era.

For the past several years, Tom Christie has been arranging an ever-twisting and shifting song of his own. Beginning in New York's Hudson Valley, where he grew up, Tom fleshed out the soft and intricate songs that became the first Fraternal Twin album, Skin Gets Hot. Released quietly in the spring of 2015, the album passed from fan to fan and developed a cult reputation based on its uniquely intimate display of raw emotion. Their sophomore effort, Homeworlding (2016) is an impressively natural progression from their debut.

A busy presence on the East Coast, Tom and his band have shared stages with Girlpool, Palm, Destroyer, Frankie Cosmos, Soccer Mommy, Vagabon, Horse Jumper of Love, Porches, and more.
