Hardcore Four-Piece Band Flatwounds Release Single "Case Logic"

Up and coming four-piece hardcor band Flatwounds bring inspiration from the '90s grunge, '00s hard rock, and modern hardcore sound on their new single “Case Logic.” Fans of Alice In Chains, System of a Down, and other classic artists of that era will be drawn to Flatwounds' thick and gloomy guitars, gritty energy, and penchant for melodic hooks that take up real estate in your brain for weeks at a time.

Flatwounds — Colin O'Hare, vocals; Matthew Degnan, guitar; David Granger, bass; and Wade Coonrad, drums — are based in Albany, New York. The band has steadily built a name for itself the grassroots way — by self-releasing a series of EPs and by playing as many shows to as many people as possible. They've released three EPs — Down (2023), Raw (2023), and Drain (2024) — and they've shared stages with Jigsaw Youth, Show Me the Body, Eyehategod, and Wargasm (UK). It's an impressive resume for such a young band at the start of its career. It's also is a clear indicator of where Flatwounds are headed and that's to the stratosphere.

The song may sound like it came from another era, but it's no throwback. It snaps and snarls with a modern current of energy.

"We feel this song sums up the 'sound' of Flatwounds quite well," shares O'Hare. "It's about the flaws of humanity and the inherent misery of the human condition."
