Nation of Language Announce World Tour

Brooklyn’s synth-driven art-pop trio Nation of Language have officially announced the release of their fourth studio album, Dance Called Memory, arriving September 19, 2025 via Sub Pop (North America) and City Slang (worldwide). Alongside the album reveal, the band is hitting the road hard with an expansive tour across North America, the UK, and Europe—headlining some of their biggest venues to date and performing in support of Death Cab for Cutie on select summer dates.
Known for their genre-blurring mix of synthpop, post-punk, new romantic, and minimal wave, Nation of Language have built a cult following on the strength of their evocative songwriting, hypnotic live shows, and introspective lyrics. Frontman Ian Devaney describes the new album as a more spacious and melancholic journey. “I started writing this record in the simplest way—just sitting with a guitar and chipping away at everything I was feeling,” he shares. Dance Called Memory reflects that meditative process while continuing to push the limits of synth-based indie music.
Fans can get a taste of the new album with the single “I’m Not Ready for the Change,” out now with a striking video directed by John MacKay. It joins the radio hit “Inept Apollo” and other early favorites like “Under the Water” and “Silhouette” as standout tracks from the upcoming release, recorded in New York with longtime producer Nick Millhiser and mastered by Heba Kadry.
The North American tour kicks off August 21 in Hamden, CT and includes a three-night hometown stand at Warsaw in Brooklyn (Sept. 18–20), as well as two nights at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles (Oct. 15–16). Support comes from a rotating roster of acclaimed acts, including Safe Mind, Greet Death, Deeper, and Westerman. The band will also join Death Cab for Cutie in Seattle and Chicago this summer for their Plans 20th Anniversary tour.
Following the North American run, Nation of Language will bring Dance Called Memory across the UK and Europe in November, headlining venues like The Roundhouse in London and Columbiahalle in Berlin. With each release, the band continues to expand its sonic universe—and now, they’re bringing that energy to stages across the globe. Don’t miss what promises to be one of the most mesmerizing tours of the year.
