Fijian-Australian rapper Jesswar has shared their new single "Fell In Love" off of upcoming mixtape, Life’s Short, Live Big, due out September 23rd. With the latest track, Jesswar shows their versatility, using a slow hip-hop rhythm paired with a thick baseline to add warmth. The video encapsulates the tenderness and openness of the song, a lush and wonder-like landscape looming in every scene.

“I feel super recharged lately and I’m coming into a new side of myself that feels free and at peace,” Jesswar shares. “Making ‘Fell In Love’ is symbolic for me, not only personally but creatively it gave me room to be gentle and blissful. This is a new path in my journey and I’m ready to be completely submerged in it.”

Produced by Jáen Collective with creative input from Jesswar, the “Fell In Love” video was filmed on location in the rainforests of Queensland. “I made ‘Fell In Love’ in November last year, the climate was hot and I spent a lot of time in the rainforest and by the ocean,” Jesswar says on the video. “Working with Jáen Collective, we created a visual that I’m really proud of and it was surreal to see the concept come to life.

New single “Fell In Love” follows on the heels of “Bad Like Riri,” featuring American rapper Erica Banks, which garnered more than 530,000 streams on Spotify.

Jesswar released their well-received debut EP, Tropixx, last year in March. Two months later, she became the first ever woman to win the Queensland Music Award in the Hip Hop/Rap category, taking the title with “Venom.”
