Boston-based vocalist and songwriter Palehound, also known as Ellen Kempner, begins her North American tour with Cherry Glazerr tonight at Higher Ground in South Burlington, Vermont. She will hit Chicago, Toronto, Detroit, Portland, and more over the next month, finishing up on March 12th at a sold out show at Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.

Today, Kempner released a new track titled “Killer” via Polyvinyl Record Co., her newest music since 2017’s A Place I’ll Always Go, which received acclaimed praise from The New York Times, Pitchfork, NY Mag, NYLON, Stereogum, and others. About the song, Kempner candidly explains “Quite frankly, this song is about the murderous fantasies I have about all of the people who have abused my friends and how they continue to live their lives unpunished.” With a slow tempo and wispy vocals throughout the four minute ballad, she sings about revenge and sends a clear message about standing up for her loved ones.

Kempner has toured relentlessly since A Place I’ll Always Go, sharing the stage with Big Thief, Jay Som, Mitski, M Ward, Weaves, Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, and Japanese Breakfast along the way.

Check out Palehound over the next month on her North American tour dates.
