Artist Eves Karydas is becoming a rising star in the indie pop genre with hit songs like “Couch” and “Damn Loyal” from her debut album Summerskin, set to come out September 28th via Dew Process/UMA.

About the record, she states, “I want to put across a sense of confidence in myself that I never had. I never tapped into that side of me on the Eves The Behavior stuff. I had to fake it for a while until it started to feel natural, but it has been the most liberating experience for me. It’s been the best thing, because suddenly I can talk about what I do and not worry about someone saying, ‘Oh, you’re really up yourself.’ It’s like, no: I’m excited. And there’s nothing wrong with that.”

She started out in Cairns as a café singer, which led her to launch a debut EP under Eves The Behavior. Shortly after, she set out in search of herself through America and Europe, eventually settling in London. Here she began recording on her own and working with a team, including Australians Sam Dixon (Sia and Adele) and Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa, along with producer Chris Zane (Passion Pit, Friendly Fires) to develop Summerskin.

Her latest single, “Damn Loyal” contains an alluring hook, followed by layers of beats that build and pull everything together. Much of the new album documents her journey to self discovery during her travels. Most recently, Eves has received much praise for her raw performance of Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”

Eves Karydas will hit the stage soon on a national tour, kicking it off at Splendour In The Grass, a music festival held in Byron Bay, New South Wales. She will also be touring in Sydney and Brisbane, among other dates.
